Big news - not so good for Maguss (doesn't change anything though)

Totally agree with you on this. And I am not really so much worried about it, just wanted to share my thoughts and react to recent news that affect us too.

I really don't think this will affect you, this is nothing more than a find it in the picture, puzzle game(see last post for Pictures). If anything, it might help get people hyped for something more like what you are making.

For being a Potterhead, I will not miss this game too. But view of the current enthusiasm that I see in my country about the Fantastic Beasts movie, I think this game will not be very interesting compared to Maguss.
This is just a publicity for the film among many others that will soon follow.
But no worries, your project is much more interesting than a game created just to make money on the backs of the fans.

Sure thing, if I accidentally wrote anything that had any indication that I am against this game or that I don't want you to play it, I really never meant to. Even that poll that I've created, it's just to see what you guys feel like about it.

Though I am happy to see the support we are getting here! Thanks, we appreciate that.

I'm not sure you should be worried about this. granted there isn't much out about it, but from this and the description, it sounds more like a "Wheres Waldo" game. You visit a location, try and find certain objects to help you find "clues" for the over arching mystery

This doesn't say AR to me, this really sounds like more of a puzzle game then what you are producing.

Here's spell casting:

But it really doesn't look like anything to be worried about.

I haven't seen that images before... thanks for sharing.

Well Maguss is made by you and the team, but we want to see it succeed just as much. Yeah those pictures prove that it most likely will be a point and click hidden object game and those have a rather narrow audience. That is funny cause the studio that creates it didn't really specialise in that kind of games.

It feels like a game for babies with a Harry Potter look to it

Well at some point, we all know that pokemon go's success will bait some shark, looking for their piece of cake.

But for now it doesn't seem to be that app (which surprised me, that's warner we're talking about).

Anyway, I would still stay with magnuss giving the way a company like niantic handled (poorly) their golden goof which leads to me to pledge to magnuss hoping that community would be listened to way more than on Pogo (which by the way caused this total waste..)

But I can understand your fear to go frontal and being torn appart because we're talking about warner, that's more than sure they would send lawyer (even if legally they can't do a thing, just to threaten their target, won't be the first time such company do this shit).

Well all that to say that you can count on us, even if some go try some other app given they pledged your game it's more than likely they saw something they liked in it and will support it.

My two cents..

Who cares about that silly WB game? We've got freaking wands!

Is there a way to copyright the wand-idea, by the way? I am afraid they will create something similar later, when Maguss has shown people are into this stuff..
How many Muggles does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
One. It is the only thing they are good for.

Why doesn't Voldemort have glasses?
Nobody nose.

How do Death Eaters freshen their breath?
With Dementos.
