The spell cast failed because your didn't draw the sign right. If you fail when you draw red particles will appear and make the trace for the right sign (yellow particles appear when it's well drawn)
I like this idea. I wrote the same on a Feedback through the game. It would be nice if groups of killed monsters of the same type gave some extra info in the bestiary and of course the more you bestiary (or general diary) gets completed you gain exploration xp. The more you kill the more expert you become.
1 Goblin: You open the "Goblin" page,
10 Goblins: You now know that Goblins have these spells, and X hp,
20 Goblins: Stats and drop
50 Goblins: a brief story page on the origins, how they are seen from everyone, why we kill them (yes I know they are Goblins) etc.
@theeo There really is a big difference in stats. Take for example the stats of a max level paladin vs warden, both having added max amount of empower (not including potions or armor, which should be similar).
Warden: 20 empower
Paladin: 40 empower
Literally Paladins have twice as much damage and healing, although that ratio gets watered down a lot when both have an additional 30-50 empower from items and potions.
Yeah you can see the stat increase in tier 1 but ofc you can't see it in tier 9 since it is only an increase vs monsters, the point is that I'm doing less damage with the 9 tier wand than the tier 1 wand, and the tier 9 one has 10 points more of empower.
