Spell ideas



  • I think it would be cool to have a topic where we suggest spell ideas. You should make one entry per spell so people can vote on their favourites. This topic has nothing of official, it's more a fun thing to do.

    Entries should be in the format:

    Name: My awesome spell
    Type: dark arts/sorcery/charms/invocations
    Tier: I to X (or 1 to 10 if you prefer numbers to Roman numbers)
    Power: -- or a number
    Slots: 1 to 5
    Duration: instant or a number
    Heat: 0 to 15
    Description: spell description that would appear in the game
    Cost: should be similar to the cost of other spells in the same tier.

    Detailed explanation of the spell and other information you might deem relevant.

    You don't have to fill all the information at once, but you should edit your entry instead of creating a new one if you want to change something or fill missing information.



  • Name: Fire Ball (classic)
    Type: Sorcery
    Tier: III (3)
    Power: 10+10 for every 10 levels of Sorcery (Max 50)
    Slots: 2
    Duration: instant
    Heat: 4
    Description: Conjuring a ball of magical flames to burn your opponent the more powerful the wizards the hotter the flames. Burn baby Burn...



  • Name: Bio-Feedback
    Type: Dark arts
    Tier: VIII (8)
    Power: --
    Slots: 4
    Duration: 2 rounds
    Heat: 6
    Description: By creating a Bio-feedback loop, 20% of the damage you take each round is passed back as damage to the monster/player that hits you. You still take full damage but the cast will feel some of the pain it inflicts. Each casting of this spell will just renew the duration



  • Name: Magic Disruption
    Type: Invocations
    Tier: X (10)
    Power: --
    Slots: 5
    Duration: 5
    Heat: 10
    Description: When this spell is cast 98% of all magic in the area is suppressed and new magic is hard to cast. For the duration both players are effected by the CHAOS spell and any spells above Tier II (2) cost 1 extra heat to cast (need to work harder to draw the magical energy in the cast spells).



  • Name: Meteor Storm
    Type: Sorcery Tier: X (10)
    Power: 200
    Slots: 5
    Duration: 2 (damage happens start of round 3 like CK)
    Heat: 10
    Description: The cast summons a storm of meteors that takes 2 rounds to arrive. Both the caster and target are effected and they cannot be evaded (cannot critical). Are you brave enough to cast it...



  • @antony-hollinsworth I really like the disruption idea but I see it more as a potion, like the Long Island potion.



  • @antony-hollinsworth the meteor at 200 power could easily be abused by players with high defense. I do really like the idea of a spell that hurts everyone though

    What's a field effect? What's specialist dueling?



  • @tiagojdferreira a field effect is something that applies to both players used in lots a games. Basically it's like an environment bonus or penalty for that applies to the players and lasts for the duration of the battle.

    Eg dueling in a desert area might cause player to lose 1 less heat each round and in a frozen tundra could allow to cool off 1 extra heat each round. My disruption might cause all players to loose Thier equipment bonus and make it harder to cast spell higher than level 2.

    Tier: VIII (8)
    Power: --
    Slots: 3
    Duration: 2 (or until discharged)
    Heat: 8
    Description: When this spell is cast the next spell with a duration of 1 or more has its duration increased by 2 rounds, this spell will not increase the duration of spell that cause damage. if no non-damaging spell is cast before the duration ends then the spell ends to no effect.



  • Name: Metamagic Heighten
    Type: Sorcery
    Tier: VIII (8)
    Power: --
    Slots: 3
    Duration: 2 (or until discharged)
    Heat: 8
    Description: When this spell is cast the next spell that is cast has its "Spell Power" increased by 10 for the purpose of calculation its effect. eg Magic Arrow would have effective Spell power of 40 instead of 30 for that casting only, Heal light wound would have spell power of 23 for that casting. if the spell does not have a Spell power then it will not trigger the Heighten.



  • Name: Metamagic Enlarge
    Type: Invocation
    Tier: VIII (8)
    Power: --
    Slots: 3
    Duration: 2 (or until discharged)
    Heat: 8
    Description: When this spell is cast the next spell that is cast that buffs or debuffs based on % will be increased by 10% eg Magic Shield normally adds +20% Defence will add +30% for this casting, Shadow form would add +35% to all stats instead of +25%, Sting Shower will damage based on 40% instead of 30%. If the spell is not based of % it is not effected.



  • Name: Metamagic Spectral
    Type: Dark Arts
    Tier: VIII (8)
    Power: --
    Slots: 3
    Duration: 2 (or until discharged)
    Heat: 8
    Description: The next damage dealing spell cast is infused with spectral energy that bypasses the opponents armour ignoring is for damage calculation (no defence bonus for equipment is counted to reduce damage). if the spell does not inflict damage then it is not effected by this spell.



  • Name: Familiar Suppression
    Type: Dark Arts
    Tier: 3
    Power: 10 (10 for every tier)
    Slots: 3
    Duration: 3 (or until discharged)
    Heat: 8
    Description : When casted, any creature that your opponent has brought into battle Will go into a power test based on spells' power and creative's strength. Fail, the creature will be simply weakened by 20% stat wise for three turns. Succeed, creature will lose three turns. It is possible to stack.
