RE: My experience so far...
@sirtrebor like it was said before, the PvP match making should be easier with the release of the game. Also, they are planning to add a new dueling system where you can fight players outside your league and level.
Regarding gold, my tips are:
- sell potions. In the beginning you don't need that many potions. Maybe a few healing ones and 2 or 3 of your favourite buff when you do PvP or use an aroma potion. Make potions and sell them to finance recipes.
- NEVER SELL AN AROMA POTION. You get more money from killing the monsters than from selling it. (Trust me, I buy a good aroma potion every night)
- sell all the poor quality gear. Sell some of the good quality gear. Try to wear only excelent, mint and legendary gear.
- use low tier monsters to heal you. Enter the battle and instead of killing the monster, use heal until you're fully healed. I use healing potions only before PvP or high tier monsters
Hope this helps.
RE: Ingredients as monster drops
Maybe these should by obtainable from monsters and chests only.
I am not sure I agree with this. I assume that when the player base grows you'll have a lot of players who prefer exploration/brewing/
Herblore to the duel mechanics, and removing these ingredients from the map would hurt the experience. I just think they should be added as drops from some monsters to make dueling more rewarding. Best case scenario, you could add the notion of fresh ingredients. Ingredients picked from dueling would be fresh and that would make the potion start with part of the quality gauge filled.
RE: Spell ideas
@antony-hollinsworth I really like the disruption idea but I see it more as a potion, like the Long Island potion.
it could be used as a field effect for specialist dueling.
What's a field effect? What's specialist dueling?
